Little Heath Pieris

This variegated andromeda plant packs a lot of wow into a very tight package. An excellent choice for containers, rock gardens or small spaces, Pieris 'Little Heath' forms a very compact, rounded plant. Its small leaves are variegated, having narrow white borders and are vivid pink when they first emerge. White flowers are produced in a drupe in early spring. This shrub performs best in some shade, with moist but well-drained soil. It's best to protect it from scalding sun and harsh winter winds. It's tight habit and diminutive size makes it an excellent candidate for bonsai. For contrast and year-round interest in the rock garden or Asian-inspired garden this evergreen shrub can't be beat.
